1 The House of Commons is due to debate a private member's bill tomorrow which aims to roll back what protestors fear is the "creeping marketisation" of the NHS.

2 The NHS Reinstatement Bill was originally proposed by Caroline Lucas of the Green Party in July 2015, but has now received support from Labour, SNP and Lib Dem MPs.

3 The bill aims to overturn the Health and Social Care Act, thereby reinstating the Secretary of State's responsibility for the health of UK citizens. It would also abolish NHS trusts, NHS foundation trusts and clinical commissioning groups, and only outsource care to private health companies if it couldn't be provided within the NHS.

4 In a letter to The Guardian, the bill's supporters argued: "Privatised services cost the NHS and taxpayer far more than when provided by our publicly-owned and publiclyrun NHS. …
