Plans for a 17 story apartment block on the banks of the River Irwell have been submitted by Trinity Riverside Holdings.

If approved by Salford City Council, the plans will see the complex built on New Bailey Street, on the banks of the River Irwell on the boundary between Salford and Manchester.

e site was originally approved in 2013 for hotel chain Le Tour to build a new luxury hotel, but which was never started. However, the application says the new plan will closely follow the design of the proposed Le Tour hotel.

e new plans comprise of 188 apartments, made up of 44 studios, 49 onebedroom, 93 two-bedroom and 2 three-bedroom units.

e ground oor will include a concierge and room for commercial space which is likely to be taken up by a cafe or restaurant, with full height shop-front glazing on the corner of Albert Bridge and New Bailey Street. …
