- BRITAIN'S Next Top Model contestant Bethan Sowerby felt "defeated" after failing to make it to the final. But she is still determined to make it in the business.

The 19-year-old sales assistant at Topshop in the Trafford Centre made it to the penultimate episode of the Lifetime series in a bid to win a top modelling contract.

She was sent home from the contest after she and the remaining three girls were challenged to pose under a waterfall in Jamaica for a shower gel commercial and eat spicy chicken for an advert with singing chef Levi Roots.

When Bethan was told that she was going home in last night's episode she said: "I knew it". And she is adamant that this just the start of a career in modelling.

She said: "I just feel a little bit defeated. At the beginning I thought I could win because I was doing really well. …
