They Give Mustaches More Than Just Lip Service Hall of Fame Inducts Its Second Class, Including 'Weird Al'

What do Chester A. Arthur, Carl Weathers, and Mario and Luigi have in common?

They're four of the seven hairy, hairy people who made up the second class inducted Friday into the International Mustache Hall of Fame.

Perhaps most controversially, the now bald-faced "Weird Al" Yankovic also got a nod.

"Though he is a clean-shaven mortal now, what Mr. Yankovic did in the '80s was perhaps more pivotal than any other individual could have done to the everyman mustache," said Adam Paul Causgrove, president of the American Mustache Institute, based in Pittsburgh since 2013.

About 15 mustachioed, bearded and hairless people alike gathered, laughed and snapped photos outside Pittsburgh City Council chambers in the City-County Building during the ceremony.

This years' inductees were:

* President Chester A. Arthur, politics and leadership

* Wyatt Earp, historical figure

* Mario and Luigi, animated

* Steve Prefontaine, sports

* Carl Weathers, film and television

* "Weird Al" Yankovic, music and arts

Last year's inaugural class of 27 included "shoo-ins" such as Walter Cronkite, Albert Einstein, Lionel Richie and Yosemite Sam. …
