JOB GROWTH

Florida added 20,200 private-sector jobs in February, a 13 percent jump from the previous month, according to reports from human resources firm and payroll processor ADP and economists at Moody's Analytics Inc.

The Sunshine State had added 17,900 jobs in January. The recent peak came in December, with 23,800 positions. Before that, the best month had been June, with 23,500.

The February tally for Florida included 16,500 service-providing jobs and 3,700 goods-producing positions.

Trade, transportation and utilities lead the way with 4,500 jobs, followed closely by professional and business services, at 4,400.

The state's construction business, coupled with natural resources and mining, added 3,400 jobs in February, while manufacturing added 300, according to ADP.

Only California, with 29,200 positions, added more jobs last month than Florida. …
