THUG has been jailed after a 48-hour violent crime spree.

ATwo nights after taking part in a robbery at Betfred on Manchester Road, Kearsley, Lee Royle was in the thick of a mob beating which could have claimed the life of the victim, Manchester Crown Court heard.

Royle, 30, of Peatfield Avenue, Swinton, has now been jailed for eight years, and will remain on licence and at risk of being recalled to prison until 2027.

In the first offence, two workers were at the betting shop at 8pm when a man rushed in wearing a ski mask. Lee Royle acted as a lookout by the door while the masked robber produced a machete from his bag. The robber left, along with Royle, with Pounds 483.

Two nights later - on January 10 2014 - two pals at the Weaver's Arms, Swinton Hall Road, Salford, were confronted by Samuel Jenkinson, 23. …
