LEIGH Centurions moved to within a point of the Kingstone Press Championship leaders after coming from behind to beat Halifax 26-18 at the Shay.

The Centurions were always in contention thanks to tries from Reni Maitua, Lee Smith and Gareth Hock before skipper Micky Higham struck the decisive blow seven minutes from the end and Martyn Ridyard made sure of their fourth win of the season with a second penalty before the hooter sounded. LONDON Broncos stay top following their 22-18 win over Dewsbury, while high-fliers Batley and Bradford fought out a 24-24 draw.

A move to a new home did little to change Swinton Lions' fortunes as a 30-10 defeat by Featherstone leaves them still looking for their first win since gaining promotion from League 1. Macauley Hallett and Chris Atkin scored tries at Heywood Road, which will house Swinton for the rest of the season, but only after the Lions found themselves trailing 30-0 after 67 minutes. …
