The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy acquired the property, legally blocked future changes that could negatively impact the water and recently put it back on the market. Mike Kuzemchak of the Conservancy said the arrangement adds to more than 26,000 acres in the Ligonier Valley that WPC has permanently protected since the 1970s. Some tracts are kept by the group, but Kuzemchak said it made more sense to sell the Loyalhanna property.
