Agency Head Hopes New Hire Will Cut Reimbursement Delays

The director of Butler County's Area Agency on Aging acknowledged publicly last Wednesday that her office has been late in issuing reimbursements for caregiving services.

But the director, Lisa Monday, said she's hoping the new temporary position county commissioners created last week for her office will remedy the situation.

Income-eligible families who have contracts for various care- giving services for senior citizen family members have been waiting for up to four months for reimbursement of a percentage of the costs they've paid out of pocket.

Monday said her office has been troubled by absenteeism due to medical leaves.

County Controller Jack McMillin Jr. said the last batch of checks his office issued were cut on July 7, a day after Monday's office submitted the necessary vouchers. …
