1941 British Arrive in the Balkans

BELGRADE British and German troops are rapidly taking up positions in preparation for the Battle of the Balkans, which may begin in a few hours or a few days. In Greece nearly 100,000 British Empire troops already have landed, and double that number will follow as rapidly as they can be brought there, organized and sent to their posts. This correspondent talked tonight [March 15] with a diplomat who had just arrived here from Athens. He described how ships from Alexandria and Haifa were arriving daily in Greek ports. …
