Vieira Shoots Down Talk of Guardiola Succession

PATRICK Vieira has rubbished reports he is in line to take the City hot-seat after Pep Guardiola.

The former EDS coach is trying his hand at management at City's sister club in New York, and has emerged with four points from his first two MLS games.

His work at the Etihad academy left some suggesting he could replace Manuel Pellegrini at some point, while Brian Marwood earmarked him as a future City manager after highlighting the importance of keeping him within the Blues family.

Guardiola has a three-year deal in Manchester, but Vieira - who will presumably warrant a mention if the Arsenal job becomes available - downplayed the idea that he could be the next Blues boss after the Spaniard.
