CROP HUNGER WALK

SARASOTA -- Hundreds of people took steps to raise money during the Sarasota CROP Hunger Walk on March 6.

Adults and children gathered in St. James United Methodist's fellowship hall on Honore Avenue before the walk. Participants wore dark blue shirts with a bright orange and yellow logo on the front that read "End Hunger One Step at a Time: CROP Hunger Walk".

Groups of people from different churches stood together for group photos. Walkers strolled along the sidewalk.

Bradenton resident Terri Simon brought her service dog, Mister. "This is my first time," said Simon, who is deaf and came with a hearing friend.

Jane Nicholl, a member of First Presbyterian Church who volunteers on the Sarasota CROP Hunger Walk planning committee, walked carrying a big cluster of balloons held high. …
