Drama to Present 'Women of the Passion'

Women of Grace Episcopal Cathedral will present a dramatic reading this week that offers a unique interpretation of the Stations of the Cross, a Holy Week tradition.

The program is based on the book "Women of the Passion: A Journey to the Cross," written by Katie Sherrod, an Episcopalian.

The program will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Cathedral, 701 S.W. 8th.

Connie Vosburgh, a Grace Cathedral member and participant in the program, said women from the church will take turns reading chapters from the devotional book, which looks at the Passion of Christ through the eyes of 14 women who encountered Jesus while he was on earth.

Slides will be shown of each station of the cross as narrators read their portions of the book. The program is expected to last about an hour, Vosburgh said. …
