Spring Is Coming, and Maybe 3-4 Inches of Snow

Spring was in the air Friday, but it isn't quite settling in yet.

A storm brewing along the coast of the Carolinas is poised to move north, bringing 3 to 4 inches of snow to North Jersey from Sunday -- the first day of spring -- into Monday, according to National Weather Service meteorologists.

"You can't rule out snow in March," meteorologist Carlie Buccola said.

Snow is expected to start falling Sunday afternoon and end around midnight, according to meteorologist Faye Barthold. Areas to the east of North Jersey will be hit harder.

Temperatures will be in the mid-30s on Sunday, which is low for this time of year, Barthold said. On Monday, they will rise to the low 40s. The region should see temperatures back into the 60s by Thursday.

During the day Sunday, the storm will be relatively weak, according to Accuweather.com. …
