Man Charged in Deaths of East Liberty Sisters Withdraws DNA Appeal

A man accused of killing two sisters from East Liberty whose trial has been delayed has asked to withdraw an appeal pending in Pennsylvania's Superior Court.

That means the trial for Allen Wade, 45, could begin soon.

The appeal requested access to the source code for TrueAllele, a computer program that allegedly ties Wade's DNA to the crime. It was filed in February.

Last week, Wade's defense attorneys told Common Pleas Judge Edward J. Borkowski that they were withdrawing the appeal because they want the case to go to trial.

The bodies of Susan and Sarah Wolfe were found Feb. 7, 2014, in their Chislett Street home. The TrueAllele program uses statistics to find the probability that a suspect's DNA matches that analyzed by a crime lab. …
