THEATER ODYSSEY

Some familiar names are among the eight writers whose work has been chosen for the 2016 Theatre Odyssey Ten-Minute Play Festival.

This year's event, which will be presented May 5-8 at the Cook Theatre in the FSU/Center for the Performing Arts, features work by several writers whose writing has been featured in a number of new play events in the area.

Larry Hamm, one of the founders of Theatre Odyssey, will be represented by "The Clown." Connie Schindewolf, who has won two past Theatre Odyssey festivals, will be included again with her play "Chopping Celery."

Mark Leib, a professor and the theater critic for Creative Loafing in Tampa, will be back with his play "Silences." Bernie Yanelli, a winner of numerous playwriting prizes in the Sarasota area, will be represented with "Miss O'Hara, I Have a Confession to Make" in the program that also includes "Hands" by Sylvia Reed. …
