SALFORD CITY head into Easter weekend aiming to bolster their bid for a second straight promotion.

The Ammies hope for a third straight win in the Evo-Stik Premier today as they host a Whitby Town side languishing in 20th place.

Third-placed Salford then visit rockbottom Ramsbottom on Easter Monday so will be eager for a maximum points haul to boost their chances of going up.

Although the Ammies are six points behind league leaders Blyth, they are focused on securing a play-off place as second-placed Darlington have games in hand on them both.

In-form ASHTON UNITED have made a timely jump into the playoff places with an impressive run of 13 points from a possible 15 propelling them to fifth.
