Upmc Plans Invitation-Only Meeting Residents Can Review Plans for New 300,000-Square-Foot Hospital on Route 51

Hospital network giant UPMC will hold an invitation-only meeting with Pleasant Hills residents Saturday to review plans for a new 300,000-square-foot hospital.

UPMC's new hospital is planned for an 80-acre tract on Route 51 at Lindsay Snyder Road, and some nearby residents are protesting the plan because of its potential impact on property values. The meeting is the second one sponsored by UPMC to receive public comment; the first one was March 15, according to Robinson Drive resident Jamie Khalil who attended. She opposes the project.

"A hospital of this magnitude is just overwhelming for us," Mrs. Khalil said. "It's basically in the back of my house."
