AN IT expert from Manchester had died after being stabbed in the head during an horrific street robbery in San Francisco.

Paul Tam was knifed as he walked with his young niece last month. He battled for life for five weeks in hospital.

Police have now released shocking footage of the horrific murder in a bid to catch those responsible.

The CCTV video shows Mr Tam running away as a hooded thug tried to rob him.

He was attacked as he lay defenceless in the middle of the road as cars drove by.

The terrifying attack happened at the junction of Franklin Street and Post Street, near St Mary's Cathedral, in the Japantown area of central San Francisco on February 18.
