Pakistan Arrests Indian Intelligence Officer for Subversion, Lodges Protest

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan arrested an Indian intelligence officer for his involvement in "subversive activities" in the Muslim-majority country and lodged a protest with India's envoy over the case, security officials and the foreign ministry said Friday. "We arrested an officer of Indian intelligence agency RAW yesterday for his involvement in acts of terrorism, a security official said.

Another official said the arrest was made in the southwestern Baluchistan province. Both spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media on the record.

Pakistan's foreign ministry said Friday it summoned the Indian High Commissioner in Islamabad to lodge a protest over the Indian officer's illegal entry into Pakistan. It said the man was involved in violence in Baluchistan province and the city of Karachi. …
