Asolo Rep Launches Seventh Unplugged Series

Asolo Repertory Theatre is giving audiences a chance to respond to three plays in development in its seventh annual Unplugged festival.

Actors from the Asolo Rep company will take part in the readings on three Sunday evenings in the rehearsal room at the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.

The series begins April 3 with "hop the A" by James Anthony Tyler, directed by Asolo Rep Directing Fellow Shaun Patrick Tubbs. It's about two co-workers at a New York nightclub who meet on a subway train in the early morning and the many directions their conversation takes on the ride home.

On April 10, the theater will present "#Bros" by Jake Jeppson and directed by Ria Cooper, the theater's education and outreach specialist. It's about the ramifications of an article about masculinity on a website that promotes male privilege that triggers a violent act. …
