Kanawha City Lions Club Honors Lion of the Year

Earlier this month, the Kanawha City Lions Club selected member Chuck Denham as its 2016 Lion of the Year, for his dedicated service to the organization. Denham received a plaque denoting the achievement from Kanawha City Lions Club President Rich Bishoff at a recent club meeting.

Denham currently serves as the club treasurer and chairman of the Accounting Committee for the Lions' annual Art and Craft Show in Charleston. He volunteers as part of the Adopt-a-Highway team which picks up refuse along MacCorkle Avenue on Kanawha City.

Denham was also recognized for service such as removing weeds and brush, planting flowers and performing other upkeep at the Welcome sign at 70th Street in Kanawha City.

A Master Gardener, Denham also helps maintain the flower beds on 57th Street. …
