KU SOFTBALL'S FORMBY THROWS NO-HITTER: Kansas sophomore right- hander Andie Formby threw a no-hitter in KU's 9-0 victory against Saint Louis on Sunday in Lawrence, becoming the 26th Jayhawk to register a no-hitter in program history.

Formby (9-2) struck out four and walked one. KU (17-10) hit three home runs as Erin McGiley, Harli Ridling and Kylee Kennedy each went yard.

WESTERN CAROLINA SWEEPS K-STATE BASEBALL: The Kansas State baseball team gave up a combined seven runs in the first and second innings and were swept with a 10-2 loss to Western Carolina in Manhattan.

The Wildcats (11-9) gave up three runs in the first, four in the second and three in the seventh to Western Carolina (9-10).

The loss also resulted in K-State being swept at home by a nonconference opponent in a three-game series for the first time since 1993.

K-State's Jacob Ruder (0-2) took the loss, giving up seven runs (five earned) in three innings. …
