STEVEN Croft believes England owe a lot of their World T20 success to the quality of the domestic NatWest Blast competition.

The Lancashire skipper reckons the Blast is in rude health ahead of the new campaign in May, which will see the Lightning defend the crown they claimed at Edgbaston last August.

England face the West Indies in the World T20 final in Kolkata tomorrow having taken the competition by storm with a fearless brand of cricket.

It is a far cry from the negative cricket they played at last year's one-day World Cup in Australia.

The selectors, along with coach Trevor Bayliss and his assistant Paul Farbrace, have picked a host of players who have starred in the Blast, such as Jason Roy and David Willey. …
