Powers to move to city * Down with the old and up with the new.

A demolition permit application means the end for the two-story office building where Oakland and Clayton avenues meet at the southwest corner of Forest Park.

Replacing the building will be a three-story structure for Powers Insurance and Benefits, which will move to St. Louis from 7745 Carondelet Avenue in downtown Clayton. Privately owned Powers turns 25 this year.
