Kevin Stallings was removed from contention for the coaching job at St. Louis University on Sunday when he was hired by Pittsburgh.

Travis Ford, meanwhile, seemed to become more entrenched as a possibility by interviewing for a second time.

Ford met with athletics director Chris May in recent days, according to sources, after having talked with another school official earlier in the week. Both interviews took place outside of St. Louis.

The Stallings and Ford situations are examples of how the pieces continue to move with SLU now into its third week of the search for Jim Crews' successor.

Stallings was the first coach connected to the SLU opening after he or his agent was contacted about the job in the days after Crews was fired. However, the longtime Vanderbilt coach and Collinsville native denied the contact. …
