Tuesday's Missouri elections will decide ballot issues and races for local offices across the St. Louis area. Polling places will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

* Sales tax and property tax increases in Ferguson, which city officials say are needed to avoid layoffs and other cuts

* Property tax increases and/or bond issues in the St. Louis, Ladue, Fort Zumwalt, Maplewood-Richmond Heights, Jennings and St. Clair school districts

* Property tax hikes in the Black Jack, High Ridge and De Soto fire protection districts and Rock Township Ambulance District; the Mid-County fire district has a property tax hike and a bond issue
