Jesse Looking to Hold on to Perfect 10 in Central Role

JESSE Lingard is eager to remain in the No.10 role for United after his influential performance against City last month.

Lingard was moved inside from the right wing against Liverpool in the Europa League round-of-16 second leg to mixed reviews, but his movement caused City problems in the derby win.

The 23-year-old remained behind Marcus Rashford for Sunday's win over Everton and Lingard admits he is more 'comfortable' playing centrally. He told United Review: "The gaffer said after the match (City away) it was my best game of the season.

"I enjoy playing in the No.10 role - I feel more comfortable, as you can get on the ball and create things.

"You are definitely more involved defensively and, obviously, attackingwise too.

"But, even when you're on the wing, you have to get back to defend, so it doesn't really matter where I play, I will still do a job for the team. …
