WVU Fraternity Suspended over Member's 'Real World' Audition

A Delta Tau Delta fraternity chapter at West Virginia University has been suspended in response to a disparaging video posted by a local member auditioning for a reality television program. The fraternity's national headquarters indefinitely suspended the chapter on Tuesday after the video was condemned by the WVU Interfraternity Council. The fraternity and student face possible disciplinary action from the council and university Office of Student Conduct.

The student, who has not been named, posted the video to his personal YouTube account. He was auditioning for MTV's "Real World," which had open casting calls on campus last month.

In a statement, the council said the video showed the student touring the fraternity house while making inappropriate comments about women, describing social functions that violate the council's conduct code and referencing activities that violated Delta Tau Delta's values.
