As a friend of the protesters who interrupted Gen. Michael V. Hayden's event at Duquesne University, I am greatly disappointed with your coverage of the event the following day ("Hayden Defends His National Security Decisions, Endures Heckling," March 30). The PG made no effort to challenge Gen. Hayden's lies and distortions of truth.

The CIA's actions did not take place in a "field of gray," as the article quotes him saying. Rather, the agency's engagement in "targeted killings" (assassinations), "stress positions" and "sleep deprivation" (torture) and "extraordinary rendition" (kidnapping) were clearly in violation of the Geneva Conventions, Article 3, which states, in part, "the following acts are and shall remain prohibited at any time and in any place whatsoever . …
