A judge on Thursday reduced bail for a Paterson man who is charged with the attempted murder of another city man in a street fight three weeks ago.

Kevaughn Wright, 27, has been held in the Passaic County Jail on $750,000 bail after he turned himself in following a March 17 shooting on North Third Street, near Jefferson and Clinton streets. Authorities said Wright is accused of shooting and wounding Elijah McQueen, 28, in the neck after the two men got into a brawl.

Wright is charged with attempted murder and two counts of criminal weapons possession.

Judge Ernest Caposela lowered Wright's bail to $150,000 at a hearing in state Superior Court in Paterson on Thursday after Wright's attorney argued that his client was not the shooter and that authorities have not produced any evidence or police report on why Wright should be charged and held behind bars. …
