Council candidates in several South Bergen municipalities this week filed petitions to be on the ballot for the June 7 primary, all uncontested races, with three incumbents opting not to seek reelection.

In Hasbrouck Heights, Ronald Kistner and Josephine Ciocia, a former school board member, filed the necessary paperwork with the borough clerk to seek the Republican nominations for two council seats. Kistner, a former councilman, and Ciocia are running unopposed. Two Democrats also are running unopposed in Hasbrouck Heights, Christopher Hillmann, who is chief of staff for Assemblyman Tim Eustace, D-Maywood, and Ian Godfrey.

In the Nov. 8 general election, they will vie to fill the seats of two Republican incumbents, Council President David Gonzalez and Councilwoman Sonya Buckman, who are not seeking reelection. …
