GREENSBORO, N.C. - The West Virginia Power gave up two runs in the bottom of the eighth and lost in the season opener to the Greensboro Grasshoppers 3-2 Thursday night. Tito Polo belted a solo home run in the top of the fourth to stake the Power to a 1-0 lead, but Greensboro answered in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI double by Rony Cabrera to tie the score at 1.

Polo poked a two-out single off Greensboro starter Justin Jacome in the top of the sixth, stole second and third and scored on an error to give the Power a 2-1 edge.

The Grasshoppers' Aaron Blanton set the table in the bottom of the eighth, drawing a one-out walk off Power reliever Cesilio Pimentel. Greensboro's Josh Naylor doubled in Blanton and scored on a throwing error by West Virginia's Alfredo Reyes to put the Grasshoppers up 3-2. …
