IT has been announced that Tyson Fury's world heavyweight title rematch against Wladimir Klitschko will take place in Manchester on July 9. Fury won the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO belts after defeating Klitschko by unanimous decision in Germany back in November.

There was a rematch clause in the contract, meaning that Fury was forced to face Klitschko again in his next fight. After months of negotiations and several planned dates falling through, it looks like the fight will now take place in Fury's home town on July 9 after Tyson's uncle and trainer Peter Fury tweeted the news.

Further details are expected to emerge in the coming days as there has been no announcement on a venue or TV channel - or confirmation from Klitschko.
