BRADENTON -- Danny Marin was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead visiting Sarasota High baseball team past Braden River 4-3 Tuesday night.

Grant Horwitz also was 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI for the Sailors while Leo Delatorre picked up the win on the mound allowing just three hits.

Sarasota (15-5) plays at Seminole tonight.

BOOKER 12 SARASOTA CHRISTIAN 2

SARASOTA -- Alex Amero scattered five hits over six innings and drove in four runs to lead Booker to a win over Sarasota Christian.

Amero struck out six. He also had a two-run single to cap a six- run seventh inning for the Tornadoes (16-5).

Jake Underhill had a two-run single in Booker's three-run fourth, then scored on the second of Amero's sacrifice flies as the Tornadoes pulled away from the Blazers (6-16).

James Boldin was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Ryan Heller was 2-for- 4. Tanner Luke doubled and scored three times for Booker, which plays at North Port on Friday at 7 p.m.

SAINT STEPHEN'S 16 ADMIRAL FARRAGUT 2

ST. PETERSBURG -- Saint Stephen's beat Admiral Farragut in a game shortened to five innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.

Ben Tobio went 2-for-2 at the plate knocking in four runs and stealing two bases to lead the Falcons. Teammate Mike Madigan went 3- for-3 with four RBI, Ross Springstead was 2-for-2, and Brett Thoma went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Winning pitcher Sam O'Dell threw three innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits with four strikeouts.

The Falcons (10-10, 8-6 district) host St. Petersburg Catholic on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

CARDINAL MOONEY 7 LEMON BAY 3

ENGLEWOOD -- T Hebda led Cardinal Mooney High (16-5) with three hits and an RBI single en route to a win over host Lemon Bay High.

Christian Maglich tallied two hits and two RBI, and teammate Tyler Strong added a pair of hits and a RBI for Cardinal Mooney.

Winning pitcher Alex Rodman threw five innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits and striking out four.
