Three Hurt in Crash Involving Topeka Police SUV

The Kansas Highway Patrol late Saturday was investigating the circumstances of a two-vehicle traffic accident in the area of S.E. 15th and Adams involving a red minivan and a Topeka police patrol car sport-utility vehicle.

Three people were taken from the scene to a Topeka hospital, with all suffering injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, said Lt. Bill White of the Topeka Police Department.

A Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center dispatcher said officers and rescue workers were called to the scene at 6:32 p.m.

Topeka firefighters could be seen at the crash site helping an injured woman onto a stretcher, which was used to load her onto an American Medical Response ambulance that took her to a Topeka hospital. …
