BOGOTA -- With about two months to go until the start of swim season, the Borough Council has approved the terms for a new lease with the Bogota Swim Club.

The council approved the terms unanimously at its meeting on Thursday after a closed-session discussion. Council President John Mitchell was absent.

The approval comes after some residents had complained of rowdiness at the pool and parking issues that spilled into the surrounding neighborhood.

Mark Heinze, attorney for the swim club, said in an email the trustees have received the proposed lease and will meet next week to decide whether to accept it.

Under the terms, the lease will last for two years, and the club will pay the borough $9,500 a year, Borough Attorney Craig Bossong said.
