Verratti Is Set to Miss out as PSG Boss Waits for 'Miracle'

PARIS Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc has admitted that influential midfielder Marco Verratti "needs a miracle" if he is to start tonight's Champions League quarter-final with City.

Verratti has been out since February with a groin problem but has travelled with the French squad.

The plan is to give the Italian a late fitness test but he trained alone last night at the Etihad Stadium and didn't work with the ball.

"Verratti is here because we decided to take the whole group," Blanc said. "We want to have everyone involved.

"For Marco, we'll wait to see if there is a miracle."

Blanc believes his side are in for a difficult game against City.

He feels his side need to learn from their mistakes and perform better than they did in the first leg last Wednesday if they want to move beyond the quarterfinal for the first time in three attempts. …
