SERGIO Aguero is set to be omitted from the PFA Team of the Year for the fifth season in a row.

The City striker is considered among the deadliest forwards in the world - but has yet to be recognised by his peers since arriving in the Premier League in 2011.

The PFA released their six-man shortlist for Player of the Year yesterday, with Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy both nominated.

The Team of the Year has traditionally included a two-man strike- force - meaning Aguero will miss out once again.

Despite an injury-disrupted campaign, the Argentine international has scored 23 goals in all competitions.

Vardy has 21 in 35 games, while Kane has hit 25 goals in 45 appearances.

Kane is the leading scorer in the Premier League with 22 goals - ahead on Vardy on 21 and Aguero, who is level with Romelu Lukaku with 18. …
