The U.S. Air Force awarded a 5-year, $6.7 million joint-user agreement contract to the Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority, known as the Oklahoma Air and Spaceport.

The USAF requires substantial use of Clinton-Sherman airport in Burns Flat for the flight training operations of the 97th Air Mobility Wing, Altus Air Force Base and the 71st Flying Training Wing, Vance Air Force Base, both of the Air Education Training Command, and other Air Force bases.

The Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority owns and operates the Oklahoma Air and Spaceport, formerly known as the Clinton-Sherman Air Force Base, for the state.

The Oklahoma Air and Spaceport had 26,000 flight operations in 2015 and is expected to increase operations 15 percent with the delivery of the new Boeing KC-46A tanker aircraft at Altus AFB. …
