West Stages 'The Library'

Partly inspired by the 1999 shooting at Columbine High School in Colorado, Scott Z. Burn's play, "The Library," deals with the aftermath of such tragedies. In the Topeka West High School production of the off-Broadway drama, a shooting survivor, Caitlin Gabriel (Claire Sundbye), tries to tell her story even though it might conflict with a more inspiring version. Shows are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Douglas P. Goheen Theater at the school, 2001 S.W. Fairlawn. Tickets are $5 at the door.

In Washburn University Theatre's production of Kenneth Lonergan's "This Is Our Youth," three teenagers who were children in the liberal 1960s are coming of age in 1982 when America in the Reagan era is rejecting everything they were brought up to believe. …
