Thieves Steal Pounds 2,500 of Handbags from Store

RAIDERS smashed through the door of a designer accessories store and stole handbags worth Pounds 2,500.

The thieves broke into LK Bennett, on Cathedral Approach in the city centre, at 5.30am yesterday.

Ten luxury handbags worth Pounds 2,500 were taken during the burglary.

The thieves managed to get into the store by picking up a drain cover and throwing it through the door.

They went on to steal the handbags and fled the scene before Greater Manchester Police officers arrived.

A pop-up tent cover was left behind by the raiders which is being investigated by forensic officers.

Handbags taken include a leather 'Catrina' tote costing Pounds 295 and 'Mariel' crossbody style bags worth Pounds 145 each.

Passersby said they saw police guarding the entrance to the shop yesterday morning. …
