ALLEGATIONS about Knowl View have been circulating for decades.

Finally in September last year, after an exhaustive investigation, Greater Manchester Police sent a file on the claims to the Crown Prosecution Service.

It came after Det Supt Pete Marsh, who headed the new inquiry, asked for witnesses to come forward in October 2014.

It was launched after reports people had been ordered to shred documents about abuse claims at Knowl View school between 1969 and 1994.

The school, which opened in the 60s, cared for boys from dysfunctional backgrounds.

Council bosses closed the school in 1994 but nobody was ever prosecuted over abuse said to have taken place there.

Det Supt Marsh is also leading an investigation of an alleged a cover- up involving sex abuse at Knowl View. …
