KEVIN De Bruyne insists he will not be motivated by revenge on his first return to Stamford Bridge today.

The Belgian midfielder has enjoyed a stellar first season at the Etihad since his Pounds 54m arrival from Wolfsburg last summer.

After a two-month injury lay-off, De Bruyne has returned to action with a flurry of goals, including the winner against Paris St Germain in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final this week.

City face Chelsea, who off-loaded De Bruyne to Wolfsburg during the 2013/14 season, with then manager Jose Mourinho unconvinced he could make it in the Premier League.

The player has disproved that theory in style at City but said: "I don't feel I have to prove anything to anyone because there's nothing really to say - it's not a case of I played a lot and played badly - I just didn't play. …
