SARASOTA__ COUNTY -- Portions__ of Sarasota-Bradenton__ International Airport were__ evacuated Tuesday after-noon__ after luggage that was__ being screened triggered an__ alert for an organic material__ similar to a substance found__ in chemical bombs.__ An area with a 300-foot__ radius was evacuated after__ authorities responded at__ about 1 p.m., airport CEO__ Fredrick "Rick" Piccolo__ said.__ The Transportation Secu-rity__ Administration, airport__ police, the Sarasota County__ Sheriff's Office, Sarasota__ Police bomb squads and K9__ units, and Sarasota city offi-cials__ waited roughly an hour__ as information was relayed__ to TSA headquarters in Vir-ginia__ and an "all clear" was__ given at about 2 p.m.__ "The lady whose bag it__ was has a lot of medical__ issues and so she had a lot__ of medical items in there__ -- some of them electronic__ and some of them of an__ organic nature," Piccolo__ said, adding that the pas-senger__ and another person__ were detained temporarily. …
