BRADENTON

MANATEE COUNTY -- After a year of selling coffee on the road, Mountain Comforts Coffee is moving into its own storefront in Bradenton.

The locally owned coffee vendor has signed a three-year lease for a 2,100-square-foot space in Marketplace West on the southwest corner at 34th Street West and 53rd Avenue West in Manatee County, according to documents filed with the Manatee County clerk's office.

The Mountain Comforts Coffee Cafe is slated to open at 3550 53rd Ave. W. in July, owner Debra Leavenworth said. The plaza also is home to Winn-Dixie, Dollar Tree and Petland.

Leavenworth, a longtime resident of Manatee County with Massachusetts roots, said she has always dreamed of opening a coffee shop in the mountains, but when her mother became ill she decided to launch her business in Southwest Florida. …
