Topeka Police ID Suspect in Assault on Female Officer

Topeka police on Saturday identified Dyllon Tucker, 24, as the man they say closed his car door on a Topeka police officer's arm before dragging her down a street Thursday.

Tucker, of Topeka, was booked Saturday into the Shawnee County Jail in connection with aggravated battery to a law enforcement officer, felony fleeing and eluding law enforcement and felony obstruction.

The officer injured in the altercation, whose name hasn't been released, was treated at a hospital and released Thursday.

Authorities said the incident occurred when the officer stopped a Dodge SUV near S.W. 7th and Taylor just before 1:20 p.m. While she was speaking with the motorist, now identified as Tucker, the situation became violent, police said, and Tucker assaulted the officer, slamming her arm in the SUV's door. …
