ADA - The Chickasaw Nation has started construction on three health care facilities on the tribe's Ada campus.

Construction has started on the Nittak Himitta' Women's Recovery Center, a violence prevention center and a new larger facility for emergency medical services.

The trio of buildings will be located on the campus of the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center, south of Ada on Stonecipher Boulevard.

The Chickasaw Nation has offered recovery and violence services since 1994 and expanded the services in 2008. The new building will allow greater assistance to families, including children.

The 13,000-square-foot facility will have 12 bedrooms with eight private bathrooms. The new structure allows the tribe to provide shelter to more women while better serving abuse victims with large families. …
