MANCHESTER'S most committed vinyl-hunters camped out overnight to get their hands on limited-edition releases for Record Store Day.

The annual event for music-lovers drew queues of some of the city's most committed record-buyers at Piccadilly Records in the Northern Quarter - where the first customer started queuing before 7pm on Friday.

It was an night. I got hours' sleep a load of Richard Several Manchester artists put out special editions for Record Store Day, including 808 State, Guy Garvey, The Fall, The Chemical Brothers, The Charlatans and Blossoms. Many special editions sold out in the first hour.

Richard Horton started queuing at 6pm on Friday night - but it was all worth it. He picked up a special edition of David Bowie's Man Who Sold The World for Pounds 25, along with a few other pieces of new vinyl for his collection. …
