Wouldn't those daffodils or tulips from the Phipps Spring Flower Show look nice in your yard? Then head to the conservatory in Oakland at 9:30 a.m. next Saturday 4/23 for Phipps' Used Bulbs Sale.

This is the third and final sale for the more than 16,000 bulbs used during the monthlong show. Each pot is changed out three or four times as the flowers fade. Last weekend, about 30 people were in line when the second sale opened, said Katy Werner, the conservatory's greenhouse production foreman.

Most years, the public can buy only daffodils, hyacinths and lilies since forced tulips won't reliably rebloom. But this year, gardeners can buy the short yellow and white Tarda tulips used in the Victorian Room. Known as species tulips, they rebloom each year and multiply like daffodils, Ms. …
